The night before the night before Christmas, it snowed on Santa Fe plaza. And here’s the picture to prove it.
As a holiday present to ourselves, we decided on a trip to Santa Fe to catch a baroque concert, dine out with a friend, then spend the night at a classic old hotel. The weather was supposed to be terrible, but in the event this was a bad as it got: a steady light snowfall that went on for hours. It wasn’t a lot of fun to stroll through, but it was far from the worst storm I’d been caught in.
Breakfast was enjoyed at a French bakery and cafe, and the roads were clear for the drive home. In accordance with my family tradition, I made a standing rib roast for dinner, and Kathy did most of the work wrangling the buttermilk potatoes.
On Christmas we’ll be honoring a different tradition, and dining with friends at a Chinese restaurant.
Merry Christmas!
May you never need to meet Mr Zappy again!
