The multitalented Scott Edelman has been conducting interviews with writers at restaurants since before the pandemic. Here he interviews me over a Polish meal at South Boston’s Cafe Polonia.
As well as more recent events, the interview focuses attention on my early career, which may be of interest to some of you.
I first met Scott in 2015 at the SFWA tent at the sadly-departed Baltimore Book Fair and he’s a warm, gracious, and welcoming presence here in our regional SFF community. And multi-talented is correct – besides being an accomplished horror & SFF writer, Scott’s been an artist at Marvel, edited SciFi Magazine back when the channel had one, and a host of other things. I had the pleasure of doing an episode of Eating the Fantastic with him last May; he’s always fun to talk to. His podcast is a great window into our field.
Thank you for the link to this interview! You shared some interesting details about growing up, reading SF, and making stories since childhood. I knew Hardwired had an RPG sourcebook, which I have, but not The Privateers series–I pounced on one on amazon as soon as I head about it. Fascinating to hear about the first cons you attended and the authors you met, too.
