Eagerly awaiting my pre-ordered copy!

Susan B September 19, 2022 at 9:16 pm

Off to buy it so I can download it tomorrow morning! (Unless I pre-ordered and forgot about it)

Steve September 19, 2022 at 9:50 pm

Pre-ordered a copy.

Has Harper shown interest in additional Praxis novels (assuming, of course, you want to write more)?

My pre-ordered eBook moved to downloadable as of ~2100 PDT 9/19 on the Apple book store.

I look forward to Sula fighting a zombie Shaa and, in a final twist, the Khosalikh emerging from a new wormhole to impose true civilization and Allowing Burglary.

Can’t wait to read it. The series is excellent!!!! (speaking about excellent series, how is the next Quillifer going?). By the way. I’ve seen you are going to all kind of conventions, you should really try the one in Israel, it’s called Icon and it’s every year in October. 3 years ago we had Brandon Sandrason and a couple of years before that we had guy Gavreil Key. Everybody enjoy theself (especielly the writers). I will presonlly invite you and you wift to dinner on me….

Oded, I was the guest of honor at Icon in 2014. Sorry I missed you! I had a delightful time.

I plan to write more Praxis novels in time, and I hope Harper will be willing to publish them.

I’ve long planned for a total of six Quillifer novels, and I intend to write them all.

Pre-ordered mine and brought it home yesterday. It’s next on my list after the David Milch memoir, which is insightful and infuriating equally.

Reading it right now. Could you film yourself in a derivoo performance on Youtube for some mood setting? 😉

Just finished it. And what a ride it was.

Now I need to mix up a Gredel…

Madame Butterfly September 24, 2022 at 11:32 am

Why the grim rather blatant symbolism of the winter garden at the end? Martinez and Terza are well suited and happy together, and while you have written Terza’s feelings to seem more obsessive, grasping, and logically reasoned than simply caring, she obviously loves him. Meanwhile, make any excuses you like favoring her or against those she’s intentionally murdered, in the end Sula is a highly unstable homicidal maniac with a background likely to destroy anyone tied to her.

@Madame Butterfly, I agree that the last couple of pages seemed a little overwrought. I think WJW does have the problem that if Terza is too sympathetic that ultimately we’ll stop sympathizing with Sula & Gareth’s romantic tension.

I feel the earlier bits in the work where it was shown that Terza can be manipulative and two-faced were possibly enough, though, without having to hammer the point home and “force us” to think about the situation a certain way at the end.

Also, what we really need is the recipe for the Hairy Roger. Including the correct serving temperature!

I was at the used bookstore today and found a better copy of Elegy for Angels and Dogs than my original, which is caked in mud from the San Juan river, and I was wondering… when is the next Praxis novel. To me delight, it was last week! Ordered!

I picked up my copy today at Powell’s. So I have my weekend reading set!
