Poor Sula, no matter where she goes she eventually goes through hell. It was fun following her journey of personal (re-)discovery, touring through places as alien and exotic to me as the fictional DEF universe planets.
And I see you planned it to be a 9 to 12 books series? Your very own A Song of Ice and Fire setting, so to speak. I’d be along for the ride! Certain off-hand comments in the first trilogy hinted at more epic developments to come (the fact the Shaa’s time system doesn’t correspond to Zanshaa’s orbital movement, that the Imperials themselves don’t actually know where their stars and planetary systems lie in space – and time – relative to each other…).
I was saddened that there were no Elvis impersonators, because everything is better with Elvis impersonators. But I suppose that would be considered a cult.
It was too short!
I certainly did, and told folks on Goodreads and Amazon all about it.

I devoured it in a day. Great to return to Caroline Sula’s story, and I hope we’ll see more soon.
