Toolbox Rocks

Four Taos Toolbox veterans have been nominated for this year’s Nebula Awards!
Congratulations to Fran Wilde for Updraft, Lawrence Schoen for Barsk: The Elephant’s Graveyard, Kelly Robson for the novella “Waters of Versailles,” and David Levine for the short story “Damage.”
Updraft has also been nominated for the Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy. This situation hasn’t arisen before, but apparently there’s nothing in the rules against a work being nominated for both awards at the same time.
Updraft was actually critiqued at Toolbox, whereas “Damage” was critiqued at my other workshop, Rio Hondo. So clearly attending one of my workshops is a shortcut to award nominations and literary glory!
I’m very proud, not only of these four, but of all the other Taos Toolbox veterans who have worked so hard to achieve so much.
If you’re a hard-working writer who wants to bring your work to the next level, you might just consider applying.
