Taos Toolbox: the News is Good
by wjw on April 1, 2014
Recent news from graduates of Taos Toolbox has been pretty darn good, if I say so myself.
Graduate Fran Wilde has a story, “Like a Wasp to the Tongue,” in the April/May ASIMOV’S. She’s also sold three books to Tor, one of which was workshopped by the Toolbox gang.
Graduate Gail Strickland has sold the novel she submitted at the workshop.
Graduate Brian Lowe’s “Rights and Wrongs” is live at the Intergalactic Medicine Show.
Graduate Lawrence Schoen has been nominated for a Nebula for his novella “Trial of the Century.” (And he won a Hugo a while back for another story.)
Graduate Sandra Odell sold her story “The Hydra Wife” to JAMAIS VU, and has finished the novel she workshopped at Taos.
And graduate Alan Smale sold a trilogy. Which happened a little while ago, but I keep forgetting to mention it. (Sorry, Alan.)
So what I’m getting at is that Taos Toolbox can help talented and aspiring writers turn professional, and has a solid record of accomplishment in doing exactly that.
There are still a few places available at the workshop. So if you want to take your writing to the next level, you should apply. And if you know someone who wants their writing to start selling, you might want to point them right here.
