Kathy underwent knee replacement surgery this morning. Which means either that posting here will be scarce, or that I’ll be posting a lot, since I’ll be sitting in a hospital room with a keyboard in front of me and little else to do.
In the meantime, enjoy this amazing video of New York in 1939, via friend of the blog al-Zorra. Beautiful Kodachrome, perfectly processed, looks like it was filmed yesterday.
Knee replacement? Oh, my heavens. I wish her all the luck in the world and a good, strong recovery. Do let us know how she’s coming along as things unfold.
Best wishes for Kathy for a swift recovery. It’s worth it.
Also re: NYC in 1939, one thing you notice is how few cars there are. The streets they show are less congested than Denver 2013, which is saying something, since NYC’s population was, according to Wikipedia, only about half a million people smaller than it is today.
