Spamwall

A spambot has now targeted this blog. (Fake Gucci bags, anyone?) I’m spending an inordinate amount of time deleting spam.
But the spambot is only hitting one topic. Does anyone know how to turn off comments on a single topic in WordPress?
I can turn off all comments. I can turn off comments on pages, but permit comments on the blog. I can permit comments on pages, but turn off comments on blogs. I can turn off comments on all future blog posts.
But there seems to be no way to turn off comments on just a single topic. Does anyone have an answer?
If you go to all posts and select Quick Edit for the post you want there should be an allow comments check box.
My fly fishing blog gets nailed all the time. When the spambots hit I activate the Bad Behavior plugin, which can be a little hard on regular comments, but does a nice job of turning away the spambots before they leave comment.
Good luck.
So “Edit” won’t do the job, but “Quick Edit” will?
Oooh-kay. Thanks.
Anyone who owns a spamnet get turned down for Toolbox?
The names do seem a bit odd. “Quick Edit” is more like a Meta edit. It lets you edit aspects of a post rather than the content.
