Mystery Pix

As I mentioned a few posts ago, I was out of town this week in a location so remote that I had access neither to Internet nor phone.
Here’s a picture of one of the places I visited.
My question for you all is, What is this?
“It’s a piece of southwestern countryside” is a perfectly accurate answer, but it would be an incomplete one.
There’s something else in this photo. Can you guess what it is?
I’ll reveal the answer in a future post, but in the meantime you are all free to speculate.
Face-shaped rocks?
Jimmy Hoffa’s buried there?
Or is this a Trinity thing?
Former Native American structure of some sort?
I think, there might have been a small cave.
Looks like a place I know just outside the Arbuckle mountains.
My first thought is that it’s a skeleton of some creature with an elongated head, whose skull we see at about nine o’clock. Horse, maybe?
@ Not Todd, Are you talking about that think with the tree on it? Do you remember, the original Alien Movie? Do you remember, the skeleton of the giant in the spacecraft they found? Don’t worry, that’s all it is.
Ruins of a structure where Geronimo once took refuge.
Peyote.
It’s a hidden hobbit house!
I think it could be one of two things.
Either meteor crater.
or an ancient bush (can’t remember the name though – they grow outwards very slowly by runners. What starts as a bush – over centuries – becomes a ring of bush around bare ground. And they live for 10’s of thousands of years)
It’s a demonstrative adjective.
Next question?
Large quantities of firewood for a BBQ?
I’m assuming that the greyish shrubs which dominate the picture are some sort of Artemisia … possibly Sagebrush (don’t know enough about the flora of the American South West to be sure)?
But there’s something indistinct in the clearer area in the middle. The more I look at it, the more it looks like Jesus trying to pull himself out of a hole in the ground using one hand … I suspect that I am wrong about this!
Flattened vegetation forming an arrow shape?
