Where’s Walter?
by wjw on February 17, 2012
As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve left home and currently am in an Undisclosed Location.
I don’t want to say where I am, but if you’ll look at the accompanying photo of innocuous cherry blossoms, you will find that I have inserted a clue into the illustration from which the clever among you may be able to deduce my location.
I know! You’re in Egypt!
Argentina?
If you throw a pebble at my office window, I will buy you a beer. Finding the right one will be left as an exercise for the reader.
Awwwk! You’re in the Imperial Capital!
What are you doing at the Clinton Library in Little Rock, Arkansas?
I’m just up the road apiece in Baltimore. If you were inclined to consume alcohol in the presence of fans, I’m sure something could be arranged.
That looks like a giant sundial. You must be at Stonehenge. Either that, or it’s the Clinton/Viagra monument.
I found the location. It was in the user comment in the image file 🙂
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cherry_Blossoms_and_blank_Monument.jpg as to not spoil the location heh
The cherry blossoms don’t bloom until April, so clearly you’ve managed to find a time machine and hop into the future. I hope you aren’t in the past, as that direction of time travel is much too dangerous … people who go into the past always end up accidentally killing their grandfathers.
If you’re still in this undisclosed location by the 1st Friday in March and wish to met those with eclectic taste and providing beer — join WSFA for 1st Friday meetings in Arlington, VA.
Directions: http://www.wsfa.org/webcalendar/month.php
click on the meeting for full directions or call and we can arrange to pick you up and bring you back.
Thank you all for the kind invitations, but I was at a fully programmed event, and really didn’t have any free time, and flew home when it was over.
I hope I’ll see you all at the Nebula Awards in May.
And yes, but photo was taken from Wikipedia, where it had a creative commons license. My own camera was malfunctioning at the time.
