And in the middle was a guy from NJ who had just released his first album. (His second would come out on 11 September 1973, but I don't blame The Wild, the Innocent,and the E Street Shuffle for the coup in Chile.)

The question I have to ask is whether =anyone= on the Welk show actually knew what “One toke over the line” actually meant.
